Birgunj: A fire broke out at the warehouse of Manakamana Pipe Industry at Tejarath Toll in Birgunj-13. Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Parsa, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Birendra Bahadur Shahi, said that the fire at the warehouse where the pipes were kept had caused a loss of Rs 1 million. According to the police, a motorcycle was also burnt in the fire and the windows of the houses around the warehouse were damaged.
The fire that broke out at around 1 pm was brought under control within an hour with the help of two fire engines of Birgunj Metropolitan City, security personnel and locals. According to operator Vinay Nepal, pipes produced by Kamana and Manakamana plastic pipe factories were kept in the warehouse. Black smoke was seen in Birgunj when a fire broke out in a warehouse where flammable substances were kept.
Police said that they could not reveal how the fire broke out in the warehouse and further investigation is underway. According to the locals, the fire brigade and security personnel arrived on time.
