Nijgadh: The Area Police Office, Nijgadh, has taken the truck driver under control while he was transporting liquor in a truck carrying food during the lockdown.
A team of Area Police Nijgadh has arrested Sitaram Chaudhary, a 35-year-old driver of Rautahat Chandrapur and a truck (Na 1 Ka 6027) while he was smuggling 36 cartons of Babai Special brand Sophie liquor at Ravikold Store in Nijgadh Municipality Ward No. 7.
Chief of the Area Police Office, Nijgadh and Inspector of Police Vikas Thapaliya said that 14 cartons out of 50 cartons of Babai Special Brand Sophie liquor were smuggled into the cold store. Ravi, who buys liquor, told the cold store operator that Nijgadh of EPR has not taken him under control.
Inspector Thapaliya informed that further investigation is underway after extending the period of 10 days for indecent offenses.
The liquor was brought from Balaji Food Industries in Rautahat, police said. Inspector Thapaliya said that the pass taken from Rautahat by the district administration was also validated.
