Jeetpur: Work on the Pathalaiya-Birgunj trade route of Bara, which is under the project of national pride, has been started even during the lockdown. Contractor Sharma United Diva Construction Services JV has resumed construction work which was halted due to corona virus (Covid-19).
The company has been instructed to move ahead with the trade route planning office Pathalaiya after an agreement was reached to target Jitpur Bazaar, the main market of the district, within the lockdown on the initiative of the local body.
Prabhat Giri, project coordinator of Sharma United Diva Nirman Seva JV, said that they have given priority to the overcrowded market area.
He said that the work has been taken forward by adopting all safety measures along with social distance to prevent the transmission of corona. Giri said that work is underway to construct the remaining drains and side lanes in Jitpur.
Meanwhile, Engineer Vivek Jha of the Trade Route Planning Office informed that the work has been started even during the lockdown to move ahead with the completion of the two projects. He said that the work of three bridges along the road with a time limit till mid-July has also progressed.
According to the Project Office, Pathalaya, the work progress of Sharma United Diva Construction Services JV Company is only 42 percent as it has not completed its work on time.
