Some media outlets around the world reported that Kim had undergone heart surgery and was in critical condition. There were also suspicions that the leader’s whereabouts were unknown. But North Korean leader Kim sent a message to health workers on Monday thanking them, according to the South Korean Morning Post. But a picture of leader Kim has not been published. Western media reported that Kim’s sister, Kim Jong Un, would succeed him.
South Korean President Moon Jae-in’s security adviser has clarified his health condition, saying some Western media outlets have raised concerns about the absence of leader Kim Jong Un shortly after North Korea’s National Day. In an interview with Chinese television station CNN, South Korean security adviser Moon Chung-in said they were always clear and stable about North Korea.
During the interview, Moon, a top security adviser, said Kim was currently in Onsang, a tourist town in eastern North Korea, and that his health was “normal.” Since April 11, Kim has not been able to function normally and has not been seen at public events, leading some to suspect he has contracted the corona virus. But North Korea has not reported any corona virus infections since April 11.
