Construction of Unification Memorial Park started in Jitpur by Nepal Army

Jeetpur: The Nepal Army is going to build a park to commemorate the war with the British during the unification of Nepal. The Nepal Army is planning to build an integration memorial park in Jitpur Simara sub-metropolis of Bara with the support of the central government and the two state governments. The foundation stone of the park was laid by Chief Minister of State 2 Lal Babu Raut Gaddi on Saturday.

The park is to be built in the premises of Shree No. 28 Bahini of the Nepal Army in Jitpur. It is said that a total of Rs. The construction of the park is targeted to be completed by June 12, 2078 BS.

Anup Jung Thapa, Assistant Rathi of the Nepal Army, said that the park was being built to commemorate the defeat of the British troops by the Tarai people and the hill people in the war against the British at that time.

He said that work is being started in three packages in the first phase of construction of the park. The state government will provide assistance for the construction of an exhibition hall inside the park. The state government has allocated Rs. 20 million in the current fiscal year for the total cost of Rs. 70 million. Hetauda-based Bhairav ​​Construction has signed a contract for the same at a cost of Rs 1,84,22,999.

The Nepal Army has stated that the park is being constructed to reflect the contribution made by Madhesi Nepalis in Nepal’s unification campaign, to deepen civil-military relations, to fulfill the responsibility of national unity and to help in the promotion of tradition.

Assistant of the Nepal Army Rathi Thapa informed that the park is being constructed to appreciate the role played by the Madhesi people in the unification of Nepal. “There has been cooperation between the Madhesis and the hill people since time immemorial. The Nepali Madhesis have contributed to the unification of Nepal,” he said.
