The strong winds in this municipality, which is a pocket area of banana cultivation, have destroyed thousands of hectares of banana cultivation. The strong winds and hailstorm that came along with the rain on Friday and Saturday night have completely destroyed barren farming in various places including Nijgadh, Kohavi Municipality and Jeetpur Simara Sub-metropolis of Bara.

The bananas have been damaged due to strong winds. Millions of rupees have been lost to one farmer due to strong winds. Although some farmers have insured their plants, most of them have not. That worries the farmers.

Another farmer, Bined Nyapane, said that most of the farmers have planted bananas but the banana crop has been destroyed by the wind and hail. He demanded that the state should provide compensation to the farmers as there was huge loss in the banana field.
