Parsa: Two more corona infections have been reported at Narayani Hospital in Viganj. At the same time, the number of confirmed corona in Nepal has reached 51. But doctors at the hospital are under stress as two more corona infections have been added.

It has been confirmed that two corona have been infected in Birgunj Ward No. 3 Chhapkaiya and Ward No. 16 Inerwa. A resident of Chhapkaiya, a 50-year-old cleaner from the Muslim community, and another 53-year-old Muslim from Inarwa have been confirmed to be infected with the corona.

Lalit Basnet, Assistant Chief District Officer of Parsa, informed that two men from Ward Nos. 2 and 16 were found positive during the PCR test and were rushed to the hospital under police surveillance.

He said that the sanitation worker was kept in quarantine at Siddhartha School under suspicious circumstances from his house and another person from INRWA was rushed to Narayani Hospital under police surveillance after his corona infection was confirmed.

He said the two had been confirmed to have corona infection as they were in contact with three Indian tribesmen living in a mosque in Chhapkaiya.

A total of 186 swabs, including 146 from wards 1, 2 and 3 of Birgunj metropolis and 41 from various quarantines in Parsa district, were sent to Kathmandu for testing.

Of them, 42 were reported on Sunday morning, two of whom were confirmed to be infected with the Korana virus and both were kept under police surveillance and sent to Narayani Hospital, he said.

So far, 420 swabs have been collected in Parsa district and sent to Kathmandu for testing. Of these, 230 reports have been negative. While conducting RDT test of 211 people, all of them were found to be negative, said Assistant Praji Basnet.

Earlier, the hospital was in a dilemma of discharging four out of five patients. A doctor informed that the issue of handing over to relatives or keeping them in quarantine is being discussed in the hospital now.
