The PCR is sent to Apolymerase Chain Reaction 2 Machine Virgunj to prevent the infection detection of the virus. But no other device needed is shipped. The medical superintendent of Narayani Hospital said it would take at least a week for the laboratory to be operated without sending other equipment. Madan Kumar Upadhyay said.
To operate the lab, biosafety cabinets, laminar air flows, refrigerators, PCR hoods, cold centrifuge and other equipment will be required. But the government was not serious about this, so the Birgunj hospital is taking extra time to collect the equipment.
The machine came in, but the medical superintendent Dr is taking the initiative to collect the other materials needed. “We also have the manpower, the molecular lab is a very sensitive lab, and we have been involved in the preparation of other equipment needed to operate it,” said Upadhyay.
PCR test numbers increase significantly after the lab is established. He said that a throat swab test could be done in 4 hours. The state government had decided to install a PCR machine at Narayani Hospital after receiving a decision from the Council of Ministers to test the corona virus in Birgunj.
