Parsa: Birgunj Metropolitan City Mayor Vijay Kumar Sarawgi has accused the federal and state governments of not coordinating for the control and prevention of Covid 19. Mayor Sarawgi told a press conference at the corporation’s conference room on Monday that there was no coordination or cooperation with the corporation in controlling and preventing COVID19.

The Chief Minister of State 2 has not provided anything except Rs 2.5 million and some PPE, Max and Globs for Narayani Hospital. But the metropolis has so far provided more than 30 million rupees in relief to its people, he said. He said that even though the federal and state governments have not cooperated, the corporation manages its responsibility by begging for the protection of life and property but does not allow grief to come. Parsa district is now at high risk of infection, Mayor Sarawgi said, adding that the federal and state governments have not shown the necessary readiness to control and prevent it and have been behaving like second citizens.

The corporation has been spending Rs. 31.34 million for the relief of its people so far. He said that relief materials have been provided to 32,469 extremely needy people in all 32 wards of the metropolis.
So far, they have been given 4 lakh 4 thousand 196 kg of rice, 44 thousand 4 kg of pulses, 29 thousand 907 liters of oil, 52 thousand 180 kg of soap, 25 thousand 33 kg of salt, 13 thousand 500 kg of potatoes, 1356 packets of noodles and biscuits. He said that 678 packets have been provided.

He said that there was no irregularity in the procurement of relief and food items were provided to the people for preliminary and quality relief. We have also set up help desks for the convenience of the people. He also told a press conference that Lockdown has started delivering relief and medicine to the affected and extremely poor through door-to-door desks.

He also stressed on the need to make Narayani Hospital a public hospital and make arrangements for a separate hospital for Kovid 19. At present, Narayani Hospital has been shifted to Kovid Asp
