Pokharel, who had gone to the capital to resolve the crisis facing Prime Minister Oli, who was forced to withdraw both the ordinances after a political party and the Constitutional Council Rules of Procedure were issued a week ago on Monday, has not remained silent.
It has been revealed that Pokhrel, who is trying to reach a reconciliation among the party leaders, has already met Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal and Vice Chairman Bamdev Gautam. Pokharel, who worked closely with senior leader Nepal when the then powerful UML general secretary and vice-chairman Gautam was the powerful head of the organization department, has proposed Madhav Nepal to be the chairman of the CPN (Maoist) with three chairpersons to resolve the party dispute.
After the former Maoist supporters within the CPN (Maoist) who united two years ago proposed to remove KP Oli from the post of Prime Minister and make the leader of Nepal the Prime Minister and started intensive preparations accordingly, the proposal put forward by the defensive Oli Khema is gaining momentum. The Oli faction has put forward a proposal of ‘Power Seysarangi’ in the party to thwart Prachanda’s preparations to become a powerful president by keeping Madhav Nepal in the chair of the Prime Minister.
It is to be recalled that Madhav Nepal supporters have also been emphasizing on the need for ‘power sharing’ to move the party forward smoothly. According to a leader who was trying to save Oli’s power after the upheaval in the party, Oli has no choice but to join Madhav Nepal to continue his stay in Baluwatar. Oli himself received indications that another chairman, Prachanda, was weaving a corner net with leader Nepal.
