८४० पाठक संख्या Birgunj : The market in Birgunj has been monitored on Monday after receiving complaints that consumers were cheated by covering up the opportunity of lockdown. The joint market monitoring team has taken action against five shops during the monitoring.
According to the Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection Office, Birgunj, Ratna General Stores of Birgunj-8, Rajesh Kirana Suppliers of Birgunj-5, Roshan Kirana Shop, Ujala Store of Birgunj-12 and Birgunj RC Food Products have been taken action.
RC Food was fined Rs 10,000 and other shops Rs 5,000 each, said Dilip Khang Khatve, spokesperson of the office.
“There were small, small shops. No one could show up when they asked for the purchase bill,” he said, “so we fined them.”
Chief of the office Jit Bahadur Bhandari, Assistant Chief District Officer Lalit Bahadur Basnet and others participated in the monitoring team.
During the monitoring, there was a problem of not keeping price list in the shop, not showing the bill invoices and required documents, said Assistant Chief District Officer Basnet. The market has been monitored twice before during the lockdown in Birgunj.
