On Wednesday morning, Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Speaker Agni Sapkota also discussed the convening of the annual session of Parliament. During the meeting, Speaker Sapkota urged the Prime Minister to convene the convention as soon as possible.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli himself has expressed interest in holding the parliament sitting by maintaining social distance. He reached the Parliament House, New Waneshwor on Wednesday and inspected the meeting room.
There is a constitutional provision for the president to convene a convention on the recommendation of the government. Although the government has not announced when the parliament session will be convened, it has urged the Parliament Secretariat to complete the preparations by April 7 at the Parliament House.
The Parliament Secretariat has intensified preparations to hold the meeting by maintaining social distance in the annual session. According to the secretariat, the only thing left to do now is to paint.
